Our Jerky:
It has always been, and will always be, about quality. We’re passionate about sourcing the finest beef and using all natural ingredients. We spice and cook with great care, and work to improve the lives of people who enjoy our great tasting jerky. We maintain providing healthy alternatives to other junk foods and promote healthier eating habits. We care deeply about all of this and our work is never done.

Our Customers:
When we are fully engaged, we connect with, laugh with, and uplift the lives of our customers – even if just for a few moments. Creating a connection with our customers isn’t just our job; it is our passion. We always treat you with respect and dignity, and we hold ourselves to that standard.

Our Stores:
For nearly 30 years we’ve been family owned and operated. We are committed to ensuring our customers feel welcome and promote a friendly atmosphere. Each of our stores is located in different areas of the state, which has their own unique traditions and culture. Each store is part of a local community, and we take our responsibility to be good neighbors seriously. Our staffs are very personable and easy to work with. We aim to be a force for positive action- bringing together our customers, employees, and our community.

Sunset Foods has been a family owned business for close to thirty years and is dedicated to bringing its customers the highest quality Beef Jerky and New Mexico Chile. The founder and owner of Sunset Foods, Frank Arellano, was born and raised in New Mexico. He attended college at New Mexico State University where he earned his degree in Engineering Technology.

Starting in the early 80’s Frank discovered a new passion; manufacturing Jerky. While helping run his father’s grocery store in Penasco, New Mexico, he began perfecting his recipes for the amazing Beef Jerky everyone enjoys today. Word of this flavorful Jerky started to spread in 1984 when he first opened the doors to Sunset Foods Beef Jerky in Espanola. One year later he moved the base of his operations to Los Lunas, where it remains today. From beginning with a 700 square foot building and two flavors, Natural and Peppered, it has grown to a facility of over 5000 square feet processing 7 different flavors:

Natural, Peppered, Red Chile, Green Chile, Teriyaki, Garlic, and Country Style
